Hi, I’m Channing

I was born empathetic and independent. I speak my mind. I’m a dreamer and I work to care more about other people than I do myself.

I used to wish I was older and more mature. Now, at age 26, I’m beginning to appreciate the true beauty of youth. As Taylor Swift says, “How can a person know everything at 18 and nothing at 22?”.

I started searching for my life’s purpose before a lot of my peers. Intentionality has always been one of my best qualities. Why do we work? What parts of myself am I willing to give to achieve a goal? What are my goals? What impact will they leave?

My earliest answers to my existential questions directed me inward. I believe that the shortest road to fulfillment, happiness and success is to do things that you love in a meaningful and impactful way.

It is fun to reflect on the times in my life when I was working to decipher my own direction. Sometimes you just do what you feel is right, regardless of what everyone else is doing, and it leads you to the best things. That happened to me.

I love to be free of expectations. I love deep conversation, genuine relationships, beautiful spaces and my alone time. My favorite hobbies are shopping, crafting and listening to music. Actually, I would call myself music-obsessed. The best music was made between 1960-1990 until Taylor Swift (post 2013) and Chappel Roan entered the chat... Okay actually the 90’s had some bangers (Semi-Charmed Life?!). Early Kanye was cool too. My favorite band is and always will be Fleetwood Mac, but the Beatles are a close second… Honorable mention for The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin. I feel as though I’m leaving too many off of that list.

Okay, back to the meat of this conversation. I graduated high school in 2016. l originally believed my career would be design-focused, but my first plan for my life didn't work out. I knew I had a photographic eye to work with, so in 2017 I started my photography journey. I wouldn't be who I am today without the 5 years I spent full-time behind the camera. At the same time, I started renovating a house with my husband. The 4 years we spent working on The Black House solidified my initial belief about my career goals. It all came back to design.

In 2022, we started working on a second home remodel (Project: Take a Chance on Me) and it helped me take my design skills to a new level. Now, I am working on The Magee, my very first teenage dream, my biggest goal that felt wholly impossible until 2023. I currently spend every day developing 5 businesses that I have devoted years of my life toward bringing to the community I live in.

My Approach

The heart of my efforts has always been to inspire people to look inward and do what they’re best at, what they’re passionate about, what makes them happy. We only get one shot at this.

Vision

Each person has God-given passion and skill. I believe one of my talents is having vision for what can be on simple and extravagant levels.

Confidence

When I was growing up, the people around me instilled in me the confidence that I needed to dream big and execute on those dreams. Adulthood taught me that confidence doesn’t just stick around and requires nurturing.

Style

Coolness is a mindset. I choose to be the coolest. I’m always learning more about what that means, hahaha.
