THE BLACK HOUSE

A 1930’s CRAFTSMAN IN LONDON, KENTUCKY

The Black House was mine and my husband Jordan’s second personal home purchase. It is located down the road from Jordan’s childhood home and we decided to buy it in 2017 after moving home from Nashville. This house has been transformational for me as a designer and I have learned more with my hands on this home than with any other project I have worked thus far.

A House of Many Lives

The Black House over the years

When we bought this house, we intended to stay there forever, and our extensive renovation reflected that belief. Little did we know that this would blossom into a dream I once would have said was impossible: our first hospitality investment!

Styling with collected pieces

Putting it together

When I look at these photos, I don’t see the finished product as other people do. I see the years of struggle that it took to get a finished product! I know the story to every single piece in this home and treasure the uniqueness they each bring to this space for the people who enjoy it.
